Lesley Carter, the owner of Bucket List Publications, is no stranger to extreme bucket list adventures. She has flown fighter jets, jumped out of planes, visited all seven continents, swam with great white sharks, rode camels through the desert, and sailed on a tall ship to Antarctica. If anyone can give good advice on extreme adventures worthy of a bucket list, it’s her. Here are five of her favorite extreme bucket list adventures.
Favorite Extreme Bucket List Adventures
Aerobatics in a Biplane
When it comes to adventure and adrenaline, it doesn’t get any better than experiencing aerobatics in a restored WWII biplane. Imagine rolling, flipping, spinning, and diving at 4,000 feet all in an open-air cockpit that gives you an unobstructed view. That’s what awaits with Biplane Fun in California.
This rollercoaster in the sky offers some of the most beautiful scenery all while taking in the aggressive maneuvers provided by the pilot, Mike.
Lesley said, “There is nothing that can prepare you for the thrill of four times the normal G-force pushing your body into something weighing 360 kilograms then pulling you away and toward the ocean below. Be prepared for barrel rolls, loops, spins, wing overs, and a dive that will make your life flash before your eyes.”
Cage Dive with Great White Sharks
Cage diving with great white sharks can already be found on most adventure-seeker’s bucket lists, and it’s definitely worthy of a spot in the top five favorite extreme bucket list experiences.
Lesley said, “There is no denying that I was petrified to go cage diving with great whites. I had a panic attack during my first dive that included hyperventilating and almost giving up completely. I was overcome with fear. Once I got in the water and watched the actions of over a dozen different great white sharks, everything changed. I was mesmerized by how gracefully they moved and the way they behaved. It is a fascinating, eye-opening, and life-altering experience.”
Islander Charters takes guests to Guadalupe Island,
Mexico for a great white shark adventure. You will get 12 hours (over three days) of surface-supplied air, cage diving, accommodations, dining, and friendships that will last a lifetime.
Once you witness, first-hand, the behavior of great white sharks, you will never look at sharks the same way again. You will still have a healthy respect for them, but the fear will change to curiosity, knowledge, and understanding.
Sail to Antarctica on a Tall Ship as Part of the Training Crew
Antarctica is the final frontier, and one of the greatest journeys of a lifetime, especially if you sail there via a tall ship.
Lesley said, “From sailing through 1,000 m high mountains of ice that tower over the ship to taking a polar plunge, Antarctica was full of dreamland experiences that are better than your wildest imagination.”
As voyage crew on board Bark Europa, you will be responsible for being on watch through the most dangerous seas in the world – the Drake Passage. You will also handle the sails and steer the ship on this more than 20 day adventure departing from South America.
Drive Race Cars with Formula Experiences
From the driver’s seat of Radical SR1 and SR3 cars, you will have the thrill of a lifetime.
Formula Experiences create the closest Formula One or experience anywhere. Located at VIRginia International Raceway, they offer the world’s only high-speed adventure set at a resort, including orientation, car control instruction, an intense night ride-along, intense day ride-along with pro coach, two “on-track” driving sessions in the afternoon, and a celebration after the experience.
Carter said, “I was behind the wheel of a Radical SR1 driving 130 mph and experiencing g-force as I maneuvered around the track. The instructors at Formula Experiences transformed me from a timid driver to someone willing to push the limits as far as I could. Formula Experiences creates a driver experience that matches your skill and desire, while putting you in control of high downforce purebred race cars.”
Gorilla Trekking in Uganda
“I was told not to look them in the eyes. Be non-threatening. Turn off your camera’s flash. Don’t get in their way. Stay at least 5 m away at all times.” It sounds intense right? That’s because Lesley was trekking gorillas in Uganda.
Gorilla Trekking with African Adventure Safaris brings you face-to-face with a troop of gorillas in one of the most incredible wildlife experiences on earth.
You get to spend an hour with these magnificent animals in their natural environment. For More Detail Visit Now: bucketlistpublications.com
